This photo was taken 15 February 1945 by a U.S. Army Signal Corps photographer showing a half-track plowing its way through a muddy road in the Hürtgen Forest. The half-track is identified as belonging to the 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. The region was devestated by months of intense fighting, with heavy casualties.

The photo is quite clear and shows many details of the half-track including the machine gun and gunner on the top left of the vehicle. A jeep and several trucks are in the background. The Signal Corps identification number is on the lower right of the photo.
